Blaise J. Noto has worked with Hollywood’s most successful actors, producers, and directors including Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Nicole Kidman, Paul Newman, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Sean Connery, Jodie Foster, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Madonna, Bette Midler, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Anthony Minghella, Sydney Pollack, Graham King, Martin Campbell, Mark Forster, Scott Rudin, Richard Zanuck and David Brown, among many others. In addition, Mr. Noto has designed and implemented the Academy Awards® campaigns for the Oscar® winning Best Pictures “Titanic,” “Braveheart” and “Forrest Gump,” and was instrumental in the marketing and publicity campaigns for a diverse range of films: “The Passion of the Christ,” “Spider-Man,” “The Kite Runner,” the first two “Mission: Impossible” films, five “Star Trek” films, ”Men in Black II,” “Grease” 20th anniversary release, “Terminator,” "Charlie’s Angels,” Nickelodeon’s “The Rugrats Movie,” “Wayne’s World,” “Rocky,” “Blue Velvet,” The Godfather Part III,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Patriot Games,” “Amadeus,” “Chariots of Fire,” “Annie Hall,” “Dirty Dancing,” among many others. He is a four-time recipient of the Publicist Guild of America’s “Best Motion Picture Publicity Campaign” for “Titanic,” “Forrest Gump,” “Braveheart” and “Spider-Man.” In Hollywood, he served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Publicity at Paramount Pictures where he also handled corporate publicity for the studio and Ms. Sherry Lansing, and as Executive Vice President of Publicity and Field Operations at Columbia Pictures. Prior to this, he served in various executive marketing and publicity positions at Warner Bros., United Artists, Orion Pictures, Vestron Pictures, and for Dino DeLaurentiis and the DeLaurentiis Entertainment Group. In the music arena, Blaise Noto has worked on the publicity and promotion of numerous Oscar®, Grammy® and Golden Globe® winning songs including “My Heart Will Go On,” “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” “I Just Called to Say I Love You,” “Arthur’s Theme (The Best That You Can Do)”, “Fame,” “Out There On My Own,” “Nobody Does It Better,” “Blame Canada,” “Gonna Fly Now,” “Eye of the Tiger,” “Promise Me You’ll Remember,” and “Come to Me.” He has worked with many of the industry’s top composers including John Williams, James Horner, Gabriel Yared, Hans Zimmer, Marc Shaiman, John Debney, Jerry Goldsmith, Vangelis, Bill Conti, Michael Gore, Dave Grusin, Marvin Hamlisch, Leonard Rosenman, Alan Silvestri and Maurice Jarre and on such award-winning motion picture soundtrack scores as “Titanic,” “The Passion of the Christ,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” "Forrest Gump,” “Braveheart,” “Ghost,” “Chariots of Fire,” “Fame,” “Superman,” “The Spy Who Loved Me,” “Bound For Glory,” “The First Wife’s Club,” “Angela’s Ashes,” “The Firm” and “Sabrina,” among others. He is a long-standing member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Publicists Guild of America, and the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation, and on the Marketing Committee of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, and previously served on the Boards of the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center, Maui Academy of Performing Arts and The Friends of the Children’s Justice Center. Mr. Noto received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and his M.A. in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication at The University of Pennsylvania. He also is a graduate of the Summer Film & Broadcasting Institute at Stanford University, and studied art at The Sir John Cass School of Art in London, England. In June 2008, he taught motion picture marketing and publicity at the prestigious Beijing Film Academy in China on an official invitation from the Academy. He also teaches “Principles of Entertainment Marketing and Publicity” at the University of Hawaii, Maui Campus, and has lectured on motion picture marketing at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, and at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. |
